Download the app

Grab ZION Windows Control from the Free products page. It is one file, nothing to install.

Windows protected your PC? SmartScreen warns about apps it has not seen much yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.

Want to be sure the file is ours? Open PowerShell in the download folder and compare the result with the SHA-256 on the download page:

Run as administrator

Double click the file and press Yes when Windows asks for permission. The app needs administrator rights to reach Defender and Windows Update, it will not start without them.

Make a free key

Click Create a free key under the key box in the app, or open ziontweaks.com/free yourself, and hit Create a free key.

  • It takes a few seconds. Keep the tab open while it finishes.
  • When it is ready, press the copy button next to the key.

Unlock the app

Paste the key into the app and confirm. The key is checked on our server and burned right away, it can never be used again. A short intro plays and you are in.

Every launch needs a new key. The app remembers nothing and is not tied to your PC, so just make a fresh key next time.

Antivirus notice

On start the app checks Windows Security Center. If another antivirus is running, you get a notice. The app never removes it, it only tells you. For the best performance, turn that antivirus off yourself, then press Got it.

Switch Defender off

Open the Security tab and press the big button. A panel with the spinning Z shows what is happening, and your mouse is locked for a few seconds while it works. A sound plays when it is done.

The small switches in the list only show the state of each item. The big button does all the work.

Tamper Protection on? Windows blocks every app while it is on. Open Windows Security, go to Virus and threat protection, then Manage settings, turn Tamper Protection off, and press the button in the app again.

Stop Windows Update

Open the Update tab and press the big button. Windows Update, Update Medic, automatic driver updates and forced restarts are switched off together.

Bring it all back

Each tab has a Restore button. Before changing anything the app saves how your Windows was set up, and Restore puts exactly that back. No system restore point needed.
